Maria GoJa is composing music for films, theater, video productions, podcasts and advertisement. As a versatile multiinstrumentalist, trained in violin, piano and vocals from an early age and some percussion instruments, Maria studied various music cultures at University and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 2007. Her musical decisions are influenced by her classical background, Folk, Jazz, electronic music and her studies of different music cultures like North Indian Dhrupad, middle eastern and West African music styles. The story and its essential message leads to every musical choice or style. Maria GoJa is composing and producing various genres, exploring different sound worlds, sometimes outside the musical comfort zone.

MissFire 2011-2014 MissFire is a theaterplay written and directed by Shredy the original music composed by Maria GoJa. This project was evolving from a unique, intercultural collaboration with Shredy Jabarin, a palestinian actor, director and writer from Tel Aviv. Both met several times in Berlin and Israel to visit all relevant places and travel between different worlds. A journey about dealing with manifold identities, formed as social, cultural and political by our limiting constraints; about longing for an universal to overcome unintended distance. The monodrama performed on stage from February until September 2012 in Tel Aviv Arab-Hebrew Theater and on the Festival of Acre in arabic language (Actor: Ibrahim Sakalla). Maria explored Shredys profound lyrics to the core and composed the music without interfering in the original, pure message. A Song Album was published in 2014.

Inspired by myths, legends and folkloric stories of women throughout time, this is an exploration of what it means to rediscover the primal within– the wild woman spirit.  How do we regain the strength of true human values?
